Tweets May 1, 2014 – Nov 2, 2014

Rather than blogging very often, I often post short thoughts and share resources on Twitter. I have posted below my tweets (Twitter posts) from May 1 through today Nov 2, 2014. On Twitter, I share resources and brief thoughts. Most of what I post is related to my interest in church leadership. By posting my tweets here, non-Twitter users can easily see what I have been thinking about. They are also searchable here because they are on a webpage.

@johnstonmonte Maybe u are being too hard on yourself. Ecumenism has to do with appreciating other members of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12).

@johnstonmonte Body of Christ is Individual (one) and group of individuals (many). It is not good… to be alone (Gen 2:18).

@johnstonmonte I don't have a handle on that. Do you see that in Sanctorum Communio or Life Together?

Tips for professors just joining Twitter: recommend articles/books you have found interesting. Facebook is personal, Twitter professional.

Steps for professors joining Twitter: create handle with your name, fill out profile, look at who others are "following" and follow some.

I'm suggesting professors join Twitter to: see what people they admire are reading, publicize their articles/books, and share resources.

Did you catch the second part of my conversation with @GordonPres, Michael Lindsay, about leadership & ambition?cardus.ca/comment/articl…

As one is a professor longer, it is hard to imagine becoming more energetic, optimistically helpful, and conscientious in one's grading.

I find myself writing longer comments for online/hybrid student papers than traditional because I have less time to clarify things in class.

I know I should ideally turn all of this into published articles / books but is that realistic? And won't it be outdated? Is this new era?

Pouring so much into teaching, I wonder about posting on the blog PowerPoints and nuggets of advice given to students while grading.

20 living American influential evangelicals: B. Graham, Sider, Perkins, Foster, Peterson, Hybels, Piper, Guder, Fee, Vanhoozer. (1-10)
